I advanced several times within SCU and was a big motivator to do well at the position I was in. However you may not advance should you not meet the criteria. Therefore one could feel stuck at a position they are not good at due to under preforming. Management is either phenomenal or extremely terrible depending which department you are in. A majority of managers I dealt with enforced  a healthy work life balance with a good heart that truly cares for the team which helped you achieve what’s needed. The flip side is the not so great management is very hands off and does not assist with improvement. You must figure everything out yourself. It can be cut throat but persistance and determination can get you through your day. People are always weird with their money so expect some push back from your clientele. Atmosphere is overall great as well. It truly boils down to management as they will either make your working experience a blast and feel like family or they will have a completely opposite affect which drives turn over in departments. 

Fairly average work days for FI. The first few months are great in the honeymoon phase. Once you’ve been around long enough it becomes very lack luster tho. Often understaffed and overworked in various departments where management isn’t properly equipped to help (don’t know how to use the system or know how to offer help to you) So expect a lot of independence. They also often use people for multiple jobs with no extra incentive or pay for doing so. Pay is 50/50 margins so pay wise you can do better but it isn’t the worst you could get; your basically middle margins. Job advancement is withheld if department is understaffed. Short term is a good job but anything long term isn’t worth it other then basic knowledge and understand to CU. 

A day to day typical day as a bank teller at SCU would be clocking in for your shift and proceeding to the front line to get your station ready and computer and cash ready to serve members. Your daily tasks are serving your members in their day to day bank transactions as requested by them with accuracy and effectively. You will in between members attain to your weekly or daily task scheduled to you and answer incoming calls and go back to your station to balance at end of day breaking half way through the day for half hour lunch.

I immensely enjoyed my time at Steinbach Credit Union. I learned a lot in the 3 years that I was employed there. 
A typical day for me would include and not limited to opening memberships, setting members up with credit cards and debit cards, issuing certified cheques and money orders. 
My co-workers were amazing as everyone was super helpful and worked as a team player. 
I think the most enjoyable part of the job for me was talking to members and creating those lasting relationships.

After coming from a job where the work/life separation didn't exist and where you didn't feel support or appreciated, Working at SCU for the last year and a half is night and day from the previous job. I come to work feeling appreciated. When you leave for the day, you leave the work behind. Department Management and the HR are super supportive and are always encouraging and there to help when needed. 

It's like a call center job. You open gic, help with online banking  deal with angry cloent. Managers have no knowledge on retail banking  they just here to make your schedule  don't expect much from them. Toxic management, grouping, employee favoritism prevails  white employees are treated differently than rest of the employees.

Best company I've worked for, love the culture and the people in the depatment where I worked - from my colleagues to the teller manager.  Benefits are more than fair, vacation days are better than other companies as you start 2 weeks on your 1st year and 3 weeks from the 2nd to 5th year, 4 weeks after 5years.

I love working in the bank, I love helping people (customers). A typical day at work i stressful but I love it because it makes the day go b y quickly.
The management and my everyone works as a unit. I enjoy helping people and meeting with customers.
The hardest part of my job is not getting not balancing my day's job

I enjoy working at the Credit Union. The people are excellent and co workers are eager to assist you. They treat you like a family, fun yet productive workplace, help you learn more skills and improve. We have weekly check-ins with our manager to see our progress on projects and help us solve problems that we face.

Toxic environment with management displaying manipulation. Non supportive, lack of proper training, and unreasonable expectations in reaching Sales goals and targets.
