A typical day in this role involved making confirmation calls for upcoming client appointments, confirming bookings, checking in clients, processing payments, and scheduling walk-in appointments for hair stylists.

Through this experience, I enhanced my knowledge of salon scheduling software, improved my organizational skills, and developed the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

While I appreciated the opportunity to contribute, I faced challenges in management and workplace culture. My hours were significantly reduced, which made it difficult to maintain motivation given the effort required for preparation and commuting. Additionally, the workplace environment was marked by unprofessional behaviors such as gossip and negativity, which detracted from team cohesion and morale.

Despite these challenges, the most enjoyable part of the job was engaging with customers. I take pride in providing excellent customer service, and I found fulfillment in creating positive interactions and ensuring a welcoming experience for clients.

I got injured on the job and was fired because I had to wear a knee brace and it was apparently making customers uncomfortable. Most of the stylists were nice to work for and reception was great, other then that the salon was writled with gossip, bullying drugs and stealing. 

The short time i was there I was not taught a single thing was told i had to attend and pay for their schooling even though i not only had my college degree i also had two years experience coming in from a high end salon and spa in Toronto. 

my requests for days off were ignored and my manager constantly told me i had to dress 'sexier' and more 'feminine.' even though i was dressed professionally; i tend to wear dress pants and shirts like the guys.

A typical day at work would be standing at the front desk answering telephones, accomodating walk in clients, notifying the stylists when their client arrives, handling money transactions, booking appointments etc.
I have learned to be punctual and practical and that multi tasking and a positive attitude is a must. I also learned that every one has bad days and not to take comments that people make too personal.
The hardest part of my job is pleasing every one I work with.
The most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with the different people and working in the salon envirement.

This salon is filled with girl cliques that feel as though they are better than any newbies coming in. My first few days working here I was told by all of the employees which stylist not to give clients to and who I should and shouldn’t associate myself with. As a part time employee, managers expected me to solve issues that was theirs to fix and put their responsibilities on me. If you want to work in a high school environment ran by toxic management then this is the place for you. Will never even give these people my service again.

The most toxic work place I’ve ever been. Grown adults acting like toddlers. No management. Stylists were allowed to do whatever they wanted with no repercussions. Stylists saw assistants only as maids and did not want to see you growing your career. Extremely unprofessional gossip environment. There were a few good people working there but drowned out by toxic miserable seniors and owners. Not worth the headache working here. 

Do not waste your time here. 
From I started, I did not have a formal agreement. 
Promises were made but never executed 
An immature high school environment
There is favouritism and you will be ostracized if you dont fit their mould. 
They will take advantage of you if you arent careful. 

Accommodating of all people, professional staff. Fun atmosphere. Great front desk. Reasonable prices. Diverse staff. Good management. A lot to do but you get the hang of it over time. Interacting with new people everyday is a lot of fun. You get to meet many personalities, which at time can be challenging.

I've gone from reception to management and keep advancing within the company! Most staff are great. The staff can get annoying with their unrealistic demands but besides that everything else is great! You create a lot of friendships!

Terrible place to work. No breaks. Management is terrible, they will talk to you about staff and talk to staff about you behind you back. This is the most unprofessional place I have ever worked. Management does not care about you. Look up all the lawsuits this place has against them from employees.
