Full job description

MCL Group is an experienced earthworks company based out of Edmonton, AB, with over 20 years in the earthworks industry. MCL Group has a proven track record of being a great employer while providing great results for our clients.

MCL Group Ltd. is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic - Contractors Welcome, with on-road and off-road experience. Must have on-road certification and experience with trucks and trailers.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair heavy haul trucks, trailers and heavy equipment.
Working with the equipment supervisor & mechanical foreman on various tasks.
Maintain detailed records and organization plans.
Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in safe and responsible manner within a designated time-frame.
Various related duties as required.
Helping out with pick up trucks and heavy equipment as necessary.
Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.

Qualifications:

Must have 3-5 years of experience with highway trucks, trailers, water trucks, fuel and lube trucks and pick up trucks.
Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic ticket is required.
On-Road Certification.
Experience fixing scrapers is an asset.
Experienced with highway and off highway
Experience with air conditioning, welding, transmission/engine repair/re-builds, airbrakes.
Experience with Cat and Komatsu equipment.
High degree of product and technical knowledge with strong diagnostics capabilities.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
CVIP experience is an asset.
Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
Dedication to safety.
You must have your own tools - up to 2 inch.

Work Conditions

Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses, etc.
Overtime as required.
Hazards associated with the trade.
Work both indoors and outdoors.
May be exposed to high levels of noise.

Pay: $48.00-$53.00 per hour

Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic: 3 years (required)

repairing/servicing water trucks: 1 year (preferred)
repairing/servicing scrapers: 2 years (required)
repairing/servicing on highway trucks: 2 years (required)
repairing/servicing fuel and lube trucks: 2 years (preferred)
repairing/servicing pick up trucks: 2 years (preferred)
repairing/servicing dozers: 3 years (required)
on road and off road: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

Journeyman HET (required)
CSO (required)
Standard First Aid (required)
