Inline Skating Instructor’s Wanted!

Description

Inline Skating Instructor (Edmonton Position, School Day Hours, Full Time)

Are you a proficient skater, skate instructor, or educator who is experienced on their inline skates and looking for an opportunity to make the lives of children more FUN? Then consider joining our team at Alien In-Line! Alien In-Line is the most successful skating school in the world, and Canada’s leading school skating program, reaching over 120,000 students in over 350 schools annually through its programs.

Alien In-Line’s head office is in Calgary, Alberta. The company is looking for a few energetic, independent, and motivated people to join our Calgary team to teach inline skating to school children throughout Alberta. The successful candidates will integrate Alien In-Line programs right into a school’s Physical Education classes. Inline skating instruction is provided as a complement to the regular PE curriculum within the school’s gym, or on a suitable outdoor surface. You may also be leading instruction in a variety of other Alien In-Line skating programs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Strong skating skills (inline, hockey, ringette, speed, aggressive, skate park, pathway, urban, etc.)
Loves working with children and youth of all ages to instruct classes K-12 and private lessons of all ages
Positive, collaborative, and has an abundance of energy
Experience working with children at summer camps, community centres, or as a sports instructor/coach
Possesses strong interpersonal skills
Confident working independently
Punctual and possesses excellent time management skills
Ambitious about learning and training to become one of the best instructors in the world

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

At least 21 years of age
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clean drivers abstract and insurance history (min. 3-years), reliable transportation
Can produce a current and clean Background Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
Has a valid First Aid/CPR Certification or is eager to complete First Aid/CPR certification training
Has a valid Safe Sport certificate or is eager to complete Safe Sport training
Occasional overnight travel required
Frequent heavy lifting required (35-45 lbs, skate bins)
