Our growing engineering business is looking for a Civil Engineering Field Technician who can help us create a more productive work environment while ensuring that our clients get the support & testing they need. The ideal candidate for this position is an organized, detail-oriented individual who is able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment. If you are a deadline-driven professional with a strong work ethic and a background in the construction industry, we want to hear from you!

Job Duties

Provide Technical Assistance in materials engineering and testing related projects and tasks, including field testing of various materials on construction sites and utilizing a nuclear densometer gauge
Maintenance and clean-up of all tools and equipment, ensuring the proper functionality and accuracy of equipment along with a tidy working area
Prepare reports in line with established laboratory and field procedures
Assist with job-site administration duties, such as timesheet completion, and any daily logs or site visit reports that are required
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, proper PPE and Soil-Mat's policies and procedures

Job Requirements

Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist college graduate is preferred but not required
Construction related experience an asset
Valid driver's licence, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle required
Basic understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, with proficient organizational skills
A team player with strong leadership skills, who can excel in a fast paced environment
Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to listen, learn, and apply new knowledge
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, carry equipment, walk, and stand for long periods of time on an active construction site [some moderate lifting will be required]

Mileage compensation $0.67/km; monthly cell phone allowance

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
