Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Technician / Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations within our automotive service center. This leadership role requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in automotive repair, team management, and customer service. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest quality of work, maintain safety standards, and foster a productive work environment. Previous dealership experience is highly preferred, along with expertise in various repair techniques and tools.

Duties

Lead and supervise a team of automotive technicians to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality repairs
Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicle makes and models
Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics for vehicle repairs and maintenance
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians to develop their skills
Manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for daily operations
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and estimates
Maintain detailed service records and ensure proper documentation of all repairs performed
Support shop operations by coordinating workflow, prioritizing tasks, and troubleshooting issues as they arise

Skills

Extensive dealership experience with a solid understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures
Proficiency in welding, schematics reading, assembly, and mechanical knowledge
Strong familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment used in automotive repair
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts handling
Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex repairs
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about vehicle issues and solutions
Leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and motivate staff
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
