Full job description

Focus is looking for a permanent full-cycle Bookkeeper!

As a full-cycle Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for completing books for various clientele in multiple industries. Preforming account reconciliations, complying with CRA filing, prepping year ends for accountants, preparing financial statements and communicating with business owners. Previous experience is an asset and required for this position.

The position is Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am-5pm with major holidays and weekends off. Located in our Grande Prairie office downtown.

Time Management and Prioritization – You must be able to prioritize your workload and manage your time in an efficient manner.
Attention to Detail and Accuracy – You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and books for each customer.
Self-Motivated and Logical Thinker – You are able to observe a problem, analyze it, and come up with possible solutions. You keep yourself on track and thrive on completing work efficiently and thoroughly. You are comfortable working independently.
Customer Service and Communication – You are personable and can communicate clearly and concisely with clients. At Focus, we are devoted to upholding solid relationships with our clientele.

Required – We require candidates to possess the following

Bookkeeping experience: 2 + years
Software experience: QuickBooks desktop or Sage desktop
English language proficiency: both written and spoken skills are essential
Knowledge of generally accepted bookkeeping principles
Strong payroll processing knowledge and skills: must know AB and BC employments standards, ROE and T4 processing.
