Position Summary:

Are you good with your hands, have a knack for all things technical? Join Johnston Equipment as a Dock Door Technician.

As the Dock Door Technician, you will be conducting maintenance checks and diagnosing repairs for dock products to replace worn or defective parts at customer sites.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of dock doors with the following responsibilities:

Receive service call requests from the national call center department
Explain problems, solutions consequences, conditions, and cost of repairs to customers
Repair dock products at customer’s facility including: doors, seals, bumpers, restraints
Test specific areas, parts, and components to ensure safety and optimal operation of equipment
Fill out work orders outlining issue, summary of work performed, and actions required
Fulfill service duties at customer sites on docks and overhead doors
Meet SLA Agreement standards of service
Successfully service equipment and encourage repeat business through exceptional customer service
As a technician, you are the front line contact between GNJ and the customer, so you are comfortable with client contact as well as being technical savvy.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/or minimum of 1 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience.
Automotive Certification (310S) or Heavy Duty Technician Certification (421A) an asset.
Welding required.
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.
Able to interpret and implement technical procedures.
Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Customer service oriented.
Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
Possess a valid driver’s license.

Truck and Coach or Heavy Duty Technician Certification or Designation an asset is required
