About the Role:

The Adult Fitness and Lifestyle (AFL) Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for the delivery of high-quality fitness classes within the YMCA. Providing a safe and engaging exercise experience through delivering classes.

Responsibilities:

Program & Service Delivery

Deliver high quality and safe group fitness classes.
Consistently provide exceptional member service, building relationships with members and supporting them in achieving their fitness objectives.
Maintain current certifications as required.

Health and Safety

Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of all Fitness Centre equipment and accessories during sessions.
Respond to emergency situations as required.
Inspect equipment before use; report defective items to the AFL Supervisor or Coordinator.
Intervene and educate members regarding high risk, unsafe or dangerous exercises.

Qualifications:

Current group fitness certification through the YMCA, Fitness Alberta or CanFitPro.
Specialty group fitness certification is an asset.
Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check.
CPR-A at minimum.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
