Experienced Gardener / Horticulture Technician

Augusta Lawn Care of Delta is hiring a full-time or part-time seasonal Experienced Gardener / Horticulture Technician to join our property maintenance team.

This hands-on, physically demanding outdoor role focuses on garden-bed maintenance, weeding, plant care, pruning, planting, seasonal care, cleanup, and maintaining a high standard of property presentation.

Most work will be completed on strata properties and at a large private estate, with additional work at residential homes.

We are open to candidates at different experience levels. At the lower end of the range, we are looking for someone hardworking, coachable, and eager to develop stronger plant-care and pruning skills. At the higher end, we are looking for someone who can confidently assess plant health, communicate with clients, plan garden work, and make proactive recommendations while still working hands-on in the field.

Pay and Benefits

Starting pay of $24 to $30 per hour, depending on experience, plant knowledge, pruning judgment, productivity, communication, and independence
$150 new-hire bonus paid on your first paycheque

A take-home company vehicle may be available for the right candidate, depending on location, driving ability, responsibilities, and business needs

Candidates in the $24 to $26 range may have less direct experience but should bring some practical plant-care knowledge and be physically capable, dependable, coachable, and eager to learn.

Candidates in the $27 to $30 range should bring stronger plant knowledge, sound pruning judgment, confident client communication, and the ability to manage garden work with limited supervision.

Schedule

Full-time or part-time seasonal work
Monday to Friday
Full-time employees will generally work five days per week
Part-time applicants should be available for three or four consistent full days per week
Optional Saturday work may occasionally be available
Crews meet at our South Delta location between Ladner and Tsawwassen, just off Highway 17
Strong employees may be offered reduced winter hours and the opportunity to return the following season

What You Will Do

Maintain garden beds through weeding, deadheading, cutting back, and seasonal care
Prune shrubs, perennials, ornamental plants, and small trees
Identify common landscape plants and flag plant-health concerns
Assist with planting, transplanting, soil improvement, and garden enhancements
Maintain clean bed edges and a high standard of property presentation
Communicate professionally with clients, coworkers, and supervisors
Operate and care for gardening and landscaping tools
Work independently and as part of the broader maintenance team
Depending on experience, complete hedge trimming, shaping, and more advanced pruning

Reliable, punctual, and consistent
Able to balance detailed work with a productive pace
Coachable, humble, and open to feedback
Comfortable performing physical outdoor work in changing weather
Valid BC driver’s licence
Reliable transportation to our South Delta meeting location

Hedging or advanced pruning experience
Broad plant-identification knowledge
Pest and disease, soil, irrigation, or planting knowledge
