The Electrical Engineering Supervisor leads and supports a multidisciplinary electrical team in the development, delivery, and maintenance of industrial electrical and automation solutions. This role is responsible for coordinating engineering resources, ensuring technical quality, supporting project execution, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects from design through commissioning across industrial environments.
Reports to the Operations Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership and Team Management
a. Manage and support a team of electrical engineers, electrical EITs, programmers, and electrical designers in day-to-day technical and project execution activities.
b. Approve timesheets for electrical team.
c. Coordinate workload distribution across engineering and programming departments.
d. Work with mechanical engineering leadership to balance resource allocation between projects.
e. Mentor and coach junior staff and support professional development planning.
f. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and guidance.
g. Coordinate with operations management to support fabrication and construction activities.
2. Technical Oversight and Engineering Delivery
a. Serve as the stamping engineer for engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports.
b. Provide subject matter expertise in industrial electrical systems, controls, and hazardous location applications.
c. Review, correct, and approve technical engineering work products.
d. Support troubleshooting, field investigations, and technical problem resolution.
e. Participate in remote and on-site support activities including commissioning and troubleshooting. Maintain reasonable availability to assist with remote problems outside of regular work hours.
f. Maintain professional engineering accountability under applicable regulatory requirements.
3. Project Management and Execution
a. Develop engineering and construction proposals.
b. Prepare project estimates, schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
c. Plan and oversee procurement and construction activities in coordination with shop and field teams.
d. Monitor project progress and support successful delivery against scope, schedule, and budget.
4. Client and Stakeholder Management
a. Maintain and develop relationships with clients, subconsultants, suppliers, and contractors.
b. Support communication between internal teams and external project stakeholders.
c. Represent engineering leadership in project coordination and technical discussions.
5. Document Authentication
a. Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, project requirements, and engineering best practices.
b. Authenticate and stamp engineering documents, drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, and other engineering work products in accordance with APEGA requirements and company procedures.
c. Accept professional responsibility for engineering work authenticated under their permit and ensure all stamped documents are prepared to an appropriate professional standard.
d. Ensure authenticated documents accurately represent the engineering work completed and maintain appropriate records of authenticated deliverables.
6. Safety Program Participation
a. Ensure the compliance of electrical team in the safety program.
b. Fully participate in the company safety program, including following safe work practices and completing required safety paperwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Possess a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, or a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) accredited institution
2. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGA in good standing, or as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech Eng) with ASET in good standing.
3. Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems including three-phase power, PLCs, HMIs, MCCs, VFDs, instrumentation, control systems, electrical distribution systems, grounding, and bonding.
4. Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and standards including the Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code, and API 500/505.
5. Experience in industrial troubleshooting, commissioning, and field support activities.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
7. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office.

Pay: $125,000.00-$155,000.00 per year

Experience:
