Health Counsellor (Retail)
Location: Ottawa, ON - 2599 Carling Ave
Compensation: $20–$22 per hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time – Approx 40 Hours a Week
Retail Operational Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm, Saturdays 9:00 to 5:00pm, CLOSED SUNDAYS

Your Mission:
Deliver an exceptional retail experience by building genuine relationships with customers, understanding their health and wellness goals, and confidently recommending products and services that support their needs. As a trusted advisor, you'll combine outstanding customer service with strong consultative selling skills to help customers discover
personalized health solutions while contributing to the continued growth of NutriChem's retail business.
What You Will Do:
Customer Experience
- Welcome customers and create a warm, engaging shopping experience.
- Listen to customers' health and wellness goals to provide personalized recommendations.
- Act as the primary contact for clients engaged in clinic appointments.
- Educate customers on supplements, natural health products, and NutriChem's integrated healthcare services.
- Promote NutriChem services and recommend appropriate clinic appointments and follow-up care.
- Deliver exceptional service that builds long-term customer relationships and loyalty.
Sales & Retail Support
- Confidently recommend products and services that align with customers' individual needs.
- Use consultative selling techniques to increase product awareness and drive retail sales.
- Promote clinic services, custom vitamin programs, pharmacy compounding, and seasonal promotions when appropriate.
- Achieve individual and team sales goals while maintaining a customer-first approach.
- Process register transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain merchandising standards, replenish inventory, and create attractive product displays that encourage sales.
- Stay informed on new products, promotions, and wellness trends to confidently educate customers.
Order Fulfillment
- Process and fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with pharmacy, clinic, and laboratory teams to provide a seamless customer experience.
- Support the training and development of Sales Associates by sharing product knowledge and best practices.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in retail, health, wellness, pharmacy, or supplement sales.
- Demonstrated success building relationships and confidently recommending products that meet customer needs.
- Superior sales ability with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Comfortable initiating conversations, identifying opportunities, and helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Strong knowledge of supplements and natural health products, or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working toward individual and team sales goals.
- Proficiency with POS systems and retail technology.
Preferred
- Experience in natural health, pharmacy, nutrition, or wellness retail.
- Certification in holistic nutrition or another wellness-related discipline.
- Experience in a consultative sales environment where education and relationship-building drive results.
