Finishing Carpenter/Carpenter/Framer - National Carpentry Installation - NCI

We are seeking Carpenters and Installers to join our growing company at NCI.

NCI or National Carpentry Installation is located in Winnipeg at 981 Main Street.

This is a FT role and involves framing, installing, and repairing carpentry items using wood and other materials, (not concrete), following blueprints and building plans, and using various tools and machinery.

Key Responsibilities Details

Framing Construction and Installation - Build, assemble, and install various structures and fixtures, including walls, floors, door-frames, and cabinets.
Blueprint Reading and Interpretation - Follow blueprints and building plans to accurately measure, cut, and shape materials.
Material Handling - Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials, ensuring precise and accurate work.
Tool Proficiency - Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform carpentry tasks efficiently and safely.
Repair and Maintenance - Inspect and repair damaged structures and fixtures, ensuring structural integrity and longevity.
Collaboration and Communication - Work with other tradespeople, construction crews, and clients to coordinate projects and ensure smooth workflows.
Safety Compliance - Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
Problem-solving - Address challenges and issues that may arise during construction, finding creative solutions and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards.
Client Interaction - Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the final product.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum 5-years previous carpentry experience
At ease with hand and power tools, including drills, saws, nail guns chisels and sanders
Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations and codes
Valid driver’s license is not required but is prefered
Own tool belt with tools is required
Able to perform physical labour jobs, including standing/walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs. for up to eight hours at a time
Must have steel toe boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses and other PPE may be needed
Client facing position: respectful communication and neat and tidy appearance is a must
Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow verbal or written directions, a high sense of urgency, and a team player attitude

Salary Range: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour

Hourly rate depend on experience, Red Seal Status, and training.
