Heavy Duty Mechanic / Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary
Honey Bee Manufacturing Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Mechanic / Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and overhauling a wide variety of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, production equipment, and facility systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing production downtime, and supporting a safe and efficient manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, truck and transport, or industrial maintenance.
Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, gasoline, mechanical, and basic electrical systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment and heavy mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, forklifts, loaders, compressors, generators, and other plant equipment.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, drive, conveyor, and power transmission systems.
- Diagnose mechanical failures using testing equipment and systematic troubleshooting methods.
- Repair, rebuild, and replace pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, belts, chains, cylinders, and other mechanical components.
- Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as required for equipment repairs.
- Service and maintain company vehicles, forklifts, mobile equipment, and other shop equipment.
- Install, align, level, and commission new machinery and production equipment.
- Assist with machinery moves, plant installations, and production line modifications.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on electrical systems, motors, controls, and wiring where qualified.
- Read and interpret service manuals, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, and other lifting equipment safely.
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Assist with facility maintenance including HVAC equipment, air compressors, building systems, and utilities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Journeyperson certification in Heavy Equipment Technician, Agricultural Equipment Technician, Truck & Transport Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), or equivalent trade is considered a strong asset.
· Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of mechanical repair experience working with one or more of the following:
· Heavy-duty equipment
· Agricultural equipment
· Industrial machinery
· Manufacturing equipment
· Construction equipment
· Truck and transport equipment
Candidates with less experience but strong mechanical aptitude and relevant training are encouraged to apply.

· Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
· Experience repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, sprockets, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
· Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices.
· Ability to safely use diagnostic tools and shop equipment.
· Ability to read blueprints, schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized maintenance systems (CMMS) are considered an asset.
