Position: Outside Salesperson - Service
Type: Fulltime Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Location: Kelowna, BC

The Outside Service Salesperson is responsible for driving service growth by proactively identifying, developing, and maintaining customer relationships outside the dealership. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers seeking maintenance and repair support, working closely with Service Managers to ensure a seamless handoff from sales to service execution.

This position focuses on building long-term partnerships with fleet and independent operators to maximize uptime, capture service opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction for Velocity Truck Centres.

Standard Hours in this position are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with flexibility to meet fleet schedules when required. Regular travel within assigned territory as well as occasional travel to other branches for meetings or training is required.

Principal Responsibilities:
Customer Acquisition and Relationship Building

Target Conquest customer units into the shop.
Act as the initial contact for service opportunities across assigned customer accounts.
Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, focusing on fleets, owner operators, and regional accounts.
Conduct regular visits to customer sites to identify service needs, equipment conditions, and uptime improvement opportunities.

Sales Development and Handoff

Coordinate the handoff to the Service Department, ensuring a clear transition and consistent customer communication.
Collaborate with Service Managers to align on capacity, scheduling and quoting to ensure efficient service delivery.

Account Management

Work with Regional Management to maintain and update the customer list, ensuring accounts are properly assigned and supported
Focus on service opportunity generation and coordination, not full account ownership

Performance and Reporting

Track and report all customer interactions, opportunities and closed work through approved CRM or internal systems.
Meet or exceed monthly and annual service sales targets based on gross revenue goals.
Regularly meet with Regional Management to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals and status of prospective customers.
Develop and maintain an awareness of the market behaviour and competitive trends and respond accordingly.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a service sales, truck dealership operation, or fleet maintenance environment.
Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck service operations, preferably within a dealership setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and relationship building skills.
Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Dealership management software.
A valid class 5 driver’s license with clean drivers abstract.

Asset Qualifications:

Post secondary education in business, sales or marketing.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Service Advisor or Service Technician in a truck dealership or fleet maintenance environment.
