The Opportunity

Deveraux Developments is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our expanding finance team in Calgary. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial and management reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls within the Deveraux Group of Companies. What you bring...

CPA designation
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in public accounting or the construction industry
Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting software
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
Construction, development, or project-based accounting experience is an asset

You will...

Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information through day-to-day accounting tasks, including preparation and review of journal entries, invoicing, and reconciliations
Prepare monthly management reporting, including project budget updates, divisional financial statements and forecasts
Manage ongoing treasury requirements for development entities, including day to day banking requests, cashflow forecasts and the preparation and review of monthly construction mortgage draws
Prepare and review working papers and support the completion of annual financial statements and tax filings across multiple entities
Participate in finance initiatives focused on automations, process simplification, enhanced controls and documentation and ERP system conversion
Design and enhance financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools that support forecasting, project monitoring, and strategic planning
Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business needs, as assigned
Provide coverage and support to other finance team members
Other duties as assigned
