Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team at a high-volume family entertainment and hospitality venue. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and food safety.

The Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations, prepare high-quality meals, manage inventory, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service.
Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain stock.
Minimize food waste through proper portioning and inventory management.
Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff.
Create daily specials and contribute ideas for menu development.
Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report maintenance issues promptly.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless guest service.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Assist with scheduling and managing kitchen staff during busy periods.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant, hospitality, or entertainment venue.
Culinary diploma or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
Valid Food Handler Certificate (required or willingness to obtain).
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills

Experience with banquet, catering, or event food preparation.
Knowledge of inventory control and food cost management.
Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.
Experience preparing a variety of cuisines.
Understanding of dietary restrictions and allergy management.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks including chopping, lifting, and food preparation.
