Company Overview
At Sharpworks Landscaping Inc. we are a family-owned, full-service landscape, excavation and septic system contractor serving the greater Ottawa area since 2016. While rooted in landscaping, the company specializes in ground works and below-grade solutions, including foundation excavation, crack repair and sealing, foundation waterproofing, and septic system installation.

Sharpworks manages projects from initial consultation through to completion, offering expert guidance, clear communication, and dependable workmanship. Their integrated services—ranging from excavation and site preparation to final grading and landscape finishes—ensure each project is completed efficiently, safely, and built to last.

Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and dedicated Landscape and Construction Laborers to join our team and contribute to a variety of outdoor projects. This role involves a mix of landscape and construction work, offering a well rounded opportunity for individuals looking to build experience across multiple areas of the industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various tools and equipment. Prior experience in construction or landscaping is a plus, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn new skills in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with landscape installations including sod, planting, garden beds, patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
Assist with construction work including excavation, trenching, backfilling, and grading.
Operate equipment such as shovels, rakes, compactors, skid steers, excavators, and small power tools.
Assist with concrete and masonry work including brickwork or stone installations, forming and finishing for landscape features
Load, unload, and manage materials in a safe and efficient manner
Maintain clean, organized and safe job sites.
Support carpentry tasks like fence or structure building as needed
Assist with restoration projects and landscape repairs
Follow instructions from supervisors and ensure work is completed to company standard.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in landscaping, construction, civil work, septic installation, or general labour is an asset
Experience with equipment (skid steer, excavator) is an asset
Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work independently and as a team member
Physically fit, able to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance
Able and willing to work in various weather conditions
Comfortable lifting and handling materials
Willingness to learn and participate in a variety of tasks to support the team
Clean G Class license (preferred, but not required)
WHMIS certification (preferred, but not required)
Reliable transportation is required, not all job sites are accessible by public transit

Job Type: Full-time, Seasonal (June-November, weather dependent)

$18 - $25 per hour

This seasonal position offers an opportunity to develop a broad skill set within the construction and landscaping industries while contributing to diverse outdoor projects. We value motivated individuals who are eager to grow professionally in a collaborative environment.
