Full job description

Our client is a growing engineering consulting firm based in Downtown Vancouver, BC, seeking a Bookkeeper / Accounting Coordinator to take ownership of the company's day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team where you'll play an integral role in supporting the financial operations of a growing business, with opportunities to expand your responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Prepare and issue client invoices while tracking and following up on outstanding payments.
Process subcontractor invoices and coordinate payments.
Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end bookkeeping activities.
Ensure bookkeeping processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
Identify opportunities to improve internal financial processes and administrative efficiencies.
Support the transition from the current bookkeeper and assume ownership of the role.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling financial information.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping and/or accounting experience.
Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently.
Reliable, dependable, and highly organized with strong follow-through.
High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience within engineering, consulting, construction, or professional services is considered an asset.
