Fire Alarm Technician

Remote | Full-Time | Calgary, AB

The role involves travel to client sites, supporting inspections, testing, maintenance, and service activities across a variety of facilities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Fire Alarm Technician your responsibilities will include:

Fire Protection System Auditing & Inspection

Assist in conducting routine audits and inspections of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
Aid in identifying deficiencies, document findings, and support corrective actions to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.

Maintenance & Technical Support

Work alongside experienced technicians to perform scheduled maintenance and testing of fire protection systems.
Collaborate with internal teams to address system issues and support ongoing service contracts.

Reporting & Coordination:

Assist in preparing clear and accurate inspection reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
Support coordination efforts related to service scheduling, follow-ups, and communication with project partners or clients.

Safety & Quality Assurance:

Adhere to safety protocols, industry standards, and internal quality guidelines always.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with experienced technicians to identify process enhancements or recurring system concerns.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Willingness to learn and work towards obtaining CFAA is required.
3+ years of technical or field experience is considered an asset.
Basic understanding of fire-alarm or electrical systems in considered an asset.

Technical Skills:

Willingness to learn fire alarm systems and industry standards.
Basic computer skills and ability to complete documentation accurately.
Ability to read and follow technical documentation, inspection reports, and compliance standards is considered an asset.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing responsibilities.
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a team and supervisors.
