Our client is looking for a Class 3 Pavement Marking Truck Operator to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a safety-focused driver with strong mechanical aptitude who wants more than just a driving position. You'll be operating specialized pavement marking equipment, working alongside an experienced field crew, and playing an important role in delivering high-quality roadway projects throughout Nova Scotia.
The ideal candidate has commercial driving experience, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in precision, safety, and quality.
What You'll Be Doing
- Safely operate specialized pavement marking trucks to complete roadway marking projects.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring all truck systems and equipment are operating properly.
- Operate and monitor paint systems, spray equipment, pumps, compressors, and glass bead dispensers.
- Ensure accurate application of roadway markings, including proper alignment, spacing, coverage, and quality standards.
- Use onboard technology including GPS, cameras, guidance systems, and measurement tools.
- Mix and load traffic paint and reflective materials according to project specifications.
- Communicate regularly with crew members, foremen, and traffic control teams to coordinate safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate production records, material usage, and equipment reports.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance, including equipment adjustments, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Follow all safety procedures and provincial roadway regulations.
- Support field setup, cleanup, and general crew activities as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 3 or Class 1 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving abstract.
- Air Brake endorsement considered an asset.
- Previous pavement marking, line painting, or specialized equipment operation experience is preferred.
- Strong commercial driving experience will also be considered.
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting equipment in the field.
- Ability to understand road plans, project specifications, and marking layouts.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, nights, weekends, and extended hours during peak season.
