À propos du poste

Axess Law est à la recherche d'un(e) commis comptable junior(ère) minutieux(se) et expérimenté(e) pour se joindre à son équipe de notaires au Québec.

Cette personne sera responsable de soutenir les activités comptables quotidiennes de l'étude, de maintenir des dossiers financiers exacts et de veiller au respect des normes comptables ainsi que des exigences réglementaires de la Chambre des notaires du Québec.

La personne retenue contribuera au soutien de notre pratique notariale en pleine croissance, notamment en participant à la comptabilité en fidéicommis, aux conciliations bancaires, aux remises gouvernementales ainsi qu'à l'administration financière liée aux transactions immobilières résidentielles.

Ce poste convient parfaitement à une personne ayant un grand souci du détail, qui apprécie un environnement juridique structuré et dynamique, et qui aime collaborer étroitement avec les notaires et l'équipe des opérations.

Principales responsabilités

Tenir à jour les registres financiers, incluant les comptes fournisseurs et les comptes clients.
Effectuer les conciliations bancaires ainsi que les conciliations des comptes en fidéicommis conformément aux exigences de la Chambre des notaires du Québec.
Traiter les factures, les paiements et les autres opérations comptables.
Préparer et produire les remises de TPS/TVQ ainsi que les autres déclarations gouvernementales requises.
Collaborer avec l'équipe notariale afin d'assurer un suivi financier exact et le respect des exigences réglementaires pour les transactions immobilières résidentielles.
Effectuer le suivi et la conciliation des comptes clients ainsi que des comptes en fidéicommis tout en assurant la conformité aux exigences réglementaires applicables.
Participer aux processus de fermeture comptable de fin de mois et de fin d'exercice, et collaborer avec les comptables externes et la direction au besoin.
Maintenir des dossiers financiers et des pièces justificatives organisés conformément aux normes de l'industrie.

Qualifications et expérience

Minimum d'une (1) année d'expérience en comptabilité ou en tenue de livres, idéalement dans un environnement juridique ou notarial, ou formation équivalente en comptabilité.
Bonne connaissance des principes comptables applicables au Québec, des remises de TPS/TVQ et de la comptabilité en fidéicommis.
Une expérience avec la gestion des comptes en fidéicommis dans un environnement notarial constitue un atout important.
La connaissance de logiciels comptables tels que Para-Maître, ProCardex et Pro-Notaire est un atout, sans être obligatoire.
Permis de conduire valide et accès à un véhicule afin d'effectuer les dépôts bancaires et des déplacements occasionnels vers des institutions financières situées à proximité.

Junior Accounting Clerk – Notary FirmLocation

Laval, QC (In-office)

About the Role

Axess Law is looking for a meticulous and experienced Junior Accounting Clerk to join our Quebec Notary team. This role is responsible for assisting with the firm's day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and the regulations of the Chambre des notaires du Québec.

The successful candidate will support our growing notarial practice through trust accounting, bank reconciliations, government remittances, and financial administration related to residential real estate transactions. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in a structured, fast-paced legal environment and collaborating closely with notaries and the operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Reconcile bank statements and notarial trust accounts in accordance with the regulations of the Chambre des notaires du Québec
Process invoices, payments, and other accounting transactions
Prepare and submit GST/QST remittances and other required government filings
Collaborate with the notarial team to ensure accurate financial tracking and regulatory compliance for residential real estate transactions
Monitor and reconcile client accounts and notarial trust accounts while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes and collaborate with external accountants and management as required
Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with industry standards

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum one (1) year of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a legal or notarial environment or equivalent accounting education
Strong understanding of Quebec accounting principles, GST/QST filings, and notarial trust accounting
Experience working with notarial trust accounts is considered a strong asset
Experience using accounting software such as Para-Maître, ProCardex, and Pro-Notaire is preferred but not required
Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for making deposits and occasional visits to nearby financial institutions
