Full job description

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

Deliver warm, anticipatory, and detail-oriented service in line with fine dining standards
Guide guests through the menu with confidence, including daily features, tasting menus, and dietary accommodations
Provide expert food and wine recommendations, demonstrating strong product knowledge and pairing intuition
Maintain an elegant, composed presence on the floor, ensuring every guest interaction reflects professionalism and care

Leadership & Team Support

Act as a point of leadership during service for servers and other FOH staff in real time
Lead by example in service standards, appearance, and guest engagement
Assist with training and onboarding of new team members, reinforcing service expectations and restaurant culture
Help manage service flow, pacing, and communication between FOH and BOH

Operational Excellence

Oversee section organization, table maintenance, and service timing to ensure a seamless dining experience
Assist in pre-service briefings, including menu updates, wine features, and service notes
Monitor and uphold cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards
Support management with floor plans, reservations, and guest notes when needed

Wine & Beverage Knowledge

Maintain a strong understanding of the wine list, including varietals, regions, and producers
Confidently recommend pairings and upsell premium selections in a thoughtful, guest-focused manner
Assist in maintaining proper wine service standards (decanting, presentation, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum 4–6 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment
Proven leadership ability in a fast-paced, service-driven setting
Strong knowledge of food, wine, and classic service techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, polished, and detail-oriented demeanor
Smart Serve Certification required
