Our veteran team of professionals delivers camps, clinics, leagues, teams, tournaments, and international tours to markets across North America. Play Hockey is seeking a AWS Lambda (Java) Developer to add to our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will have strong time management skills, the ability to work in a team setting as well as individually and have experience in the AWS Lambda (Java) development industry. This is a great opportunity to work on a serverless, modern architecture stack in a fast-paced project.

If you are ready for the next exciting challenge in your career and want to join a team of very experienced IT Professionals, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

Develop backend APIs using AWS Lambda (Java) and expose via API Gateway.
Integrate with AWS services like S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Cognito.
Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions (Agile environment).
Write reusable, secure, and testable code for both backend and frontend.
Troubleshoot production issues and participate in deployment activities.
Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

2+ years of software development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Java (8 or later) for AWS Lambda development.
Familiar with Git, DevOps concepts and working in a CI/CD pipeline.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have:

AWS Experience and Certification
Java Certification
Prior experience on similar cloud-native projects.
