About the Role

We are currently seeking a team-oriented Expeditor to join our headquarters team in Smithers, BC. This role is critical in supporting field operations by coordinating purchasing, documentation, and the preparation of goods for shipment to remote job sites.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and works collaboratively with internal teams to ensure our clients’ operational needs are met efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, review, and organize requests from clients and Rugged Edge team members.
Purchase goods in accordance with approved requests, company procedures, and value-for-money principles.
Track order status and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery aligned with project timelines.
Prepare, assemble, and review documentation required for waybills, manifests, and shipping records.
Prepare, package, and organize goods for shipment to remote locations.
Coordinate with carriers, couriers, and freight providers regarding shipping requirements and delivery schedules.
Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping documentation.
Identify and escalate discrepancies, shortages, or delays to the Logistics and Procurement Administrator or Operations Manager.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, shipments, and expediting activities for reconciliation and reporting purposes.
Assist with basic inventory tracking and stock level monitoring as required.
Support urgent or time-sensitive shipments to remote work sites.
Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems related to expediting and logistics activities.
Support operational deadlines by prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What We’re Looking For:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience preparing, organizing, and managing documentation.
Strong attention to detail with effective problem-solving skills.
Ability to take personal responsibility while working within a cohesive team.
Basic understanding of parts, tools, and general equipment used in exploration or industrial settings.
Flexibility to work varying schedules, including occasional weekends.
Experience operating equipment such as forklifts and truck-and-trailer is an asset.
