Do you want to make a difference while gaining valuable hands-on experience in community support and personal care? We are seeking compassionate and dependable Support Workers to join our team for a temporary assignment supporting individuals in the community across Thunder Bay and area.

Guaranteed hours: Minimum three-week commitment with full-time or part-time scheduling (approx. 42 hours per week for full-time employees, flexible for part-time). We will work around your availability
Paid training: 24 hours of paid pre-assignment orientation and onboarding
Supportive environment: 24/7 access to management support while on-site
Professional growth: Gain experience in community care, working with seniors, and hands-on caregiving!

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support to individuals in residential or community-based settings
Assist clients with activities of daily living (personal care, hygiene, meals, housekeeping)
Implement individualized care plans and support clients in achieving their goals
Promote independence, dignity, and community inclusion
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality at all times
Follow established health and safety procedures

Qualifications

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate, enrollment in a PSW, DSW, or nursing program, diploma in social services or related field, or equivalent. Relevant life experience relating to this work is also considered valuable.
Experience supporting seniors, or individuals with disabilities, mental health diagnoses, is an asset
Training in personal care and activities of daily living is an asset
Current First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset
Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check(issued within the past 6 months)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within the past 2 years)
Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills along with basic computer literacy
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Physically able to perform the duties of the role (lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally)

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
