Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various saws and machining equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring precise cuts and high-quality fabrication of materials. The Industrial Saw Operator will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain various types of saws, including band saws and circular saws, to cut materials according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
Operates general metal shop equipment and tools.
Utilize measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to ensure accuracy in cuts.
Perform basic math calculations to determine dimensions and quantities needed for projects.
Collaborate with the machining team to fabricate components as required.
Conduct routine maintenance on saw equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
Assist in training new operators on equipment usage and safety practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills related to machining equipment.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Experience operating forklifts is a plus; certification may be required.
Knowledge of welding techniques is advantageous for fabrication tasks.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
