Atlantic Coastal Equipment is recruiting for a driven, energetic, and team-oriented Equipment Sales Specialist to join our team in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. As the Product Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of all sales and business development activity in your assigned territory, with a focus on selling compact construction equipment. This includes the Wacker Neuson product line of; skid steers, excavators, loaders and compaction equipment. Furthermore, products from Kobelco, Hangcha Forklifts, Bandit, Marathon Equipment & Haulotte Lifts.
The Atlantic Coastal Equipment office is based in Truro, Nova Scotia, however; you will spend most of your time meeting with potential clients in your territory. This is a hands-on sales position offering a competitive compensation, company vehicle and benefits plan - where you will have the opportunity to develop business for our product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and networking
- Leading the sales strategy in your assigned territory, including prospecting, managing sales leads, and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new customers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential sales opportunities
- Tactfully and professionally negotiating with customers to successfully close deals and secure client accounts
- Deliver an exceptional customer service experience
- Set and meet margin goals working with Business Development Manager
- Advise customers on additional options or parts that may be beneficial to their operation
- Gather and advise on information via sales meetings
- Attend shows, demonstrations, and other events to share our equipment lines
- Communicate with customers as well as suppliers via phone and email
- Conducting follow-ups with customers on orders, quotes, and service requests
- Assist with other duties as required
Requirements:
- Must be dependable and a self-motivated team player with the ability to communicate effectively, negotiate and be good at conflict resolution.
- 2+ years sales experience, ideally in a comparable industry (construction, industrial, machinery, etc.)
- Prior experience in construction equipment sales a strong asset; knowledge of compact construction equipment would be ideal.
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Work both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision
- Always maintain proper and safe working conditions
- Effectively work well under pressure and shifting priorities
- Ability to travel over night 30% of the time
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
