Overview

We’re hiring an Automotive Technician Apprentice who is motivated to learn, takes pride in their work, and wants to build a long-term career in the automotive industry. Peninsula Transmission & Automotive is a full-service repair shop on the Saanich Peninsula. We have a small team, which means every person has the opportunity to learn from experienced technicians, contribute to the shop’s success, and grow into a highly skilled professional.

Our goal is to help you become an exceptional Red Seal Automotive Service Technician while exposing you to every aspect of the business. As you develop your skills, you’ll receive hands-on mentorship, ongoing training, and increasing responsibility.

For apprentices who demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to learning, future opportunities may include Lead Technician, Shop Foreman, Service Manager, Operations Manager, or other leadership roles as our company continues to grow.

You’re someone who enjoys solving problems, working with your hands, and learning new skills every day. You ask questions, take feedback well, and aren’t afraid to tackle new challenges.

You’re dependable, hardworking, and committed to producing quality work. You understand that becoming a great technician takes time, and you’re willing to put in the effort to continually improve.

Whether you’re just beginning your apprenticeship or already have experience in the trade, you’re looking for a shop that values your development and invests in your future.

Key Responsibilities

Assist licensed technicians with vehicle inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake servicing, and fluid inspections.
Learn diagnostic procedures using modern tools and equipment.
Safely use shop equipment and follow all safety procedures.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional.
Assist with transmission, engine, suspension, steering, brake, and electrical repairs as your skills develop.
Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate effectively with team members.
Participate in ongoing technical training and successfully progress through your apprenticeship.
