Full job description

D&R Custom Steel Fabrication is a trusted provider of stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty or exotic metal alloy equipment. Over the 50+ years we've been business, we’ve gained a solid reputation and practical expertise in the water treatment, air treatment, mining, and material handling industries, focusing on custom fabrications.

* This is an entry level position and ideally best suited for someone looking to get into the welding/fabricating trades. This position requires a high level of repetitive manual physical labour.*

The set hours for this day shift position is: 7:30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday; 7:30am - 3pm Friday.

Responsibilities:

Clean welds, rust and sharp edges using hand grinders, die grinders, etc..
Move material using overhead cranes.
Acid wash steel structures.
Drill holes using hand drills and drill press.
Punch holes using iron worker.
Shop and yard maintenance.
Ensure and support safe work environment and practices through good housekeeping and following all safety procedures according to Ministry of Labour requirements. Specifically keep all work areas clear of debris.
Other duties as assigned.

As a General Labourer in a Steel Plant, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient operation of production lines. You will be expected to maintain safety standards while performing various tasks related to steel processing. *If you have any experience using the overhead crane at a metal fab shop , please highlight this on your resume.* Your ability to work collaboratively and adapt to fast-paced environments will be essential.
