Full job description

At Gladstone Brewing Co., we genuinely love our team and the community we get to serve every day. We are a family-run brewery that believes great beer, great food, and great hospitality all go hand in hand. We are currently looking for someone with full availability, especially evenings and weekends, to join our Front of House team as a Bartender/Server.

From our humble home-brewing beginnings in a garage on Gladstone Avenue in Victoria, BC, Gladstone Brewing Co. has grown into a gathering place for the Comox Valley — built around collaboration, creativity, craft beer, and community. We are proud of what we have built, but we are even more excited about where we are headed next.

We are looking for someone who brings positive energy, loves connecting with people, and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences.

Job Details:

Serving wage at current provincial standard with participation in tip pool
Full-time, permanent position
Evening and weekend availability required

Roles & Responsibilities:

Deliver warm, enthusiastic, and professional service to every guest
Bartend and serve tables with consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail
Maintain strong knowledge of Gladstone Brewing Co. products, seasonal features, cocktails, food menu, and beverage offerings
Educate guests on beer styles, tasting notes, cocktail features, and menu recommendations
Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate effectively with the kitchen and team
Deliver food and drinks promptly while ensuring a high-quality guest experience
Keep the bar, dining room, patio, and service areas clean, organized, and guest-ready
Follow opening, closing, cleaning, and side duty procedures
Monitor guest experience and help create a fun, welcoming environment
Handle busy service periods with professionalism and positivity
Assist with restocking coolers, kegs, glassware, and supplies
Help maintain a safe and respectful environment for guests and staff

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Serving It Right Certificate
Minimum 2–3 years hospitality experience
Bartending experience considered a strong asset
Craft beer knowledge is an asset, but enthusiasm and willingness to learn matter most
Cocktail experience considered an asset
Cicerone certification considered a strong asset
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and in a fast-paced environment
