Accounting Clerk

Location: Jackson Seed Service; Dresden, ON

Position Summary

Jackson Seed Service is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to manage invoicing, payments, reconciliations, receivables, inventory records, and financial reporting. The role primarily supports the Dealer Program, grain systems, and retail sales. Experience with Thede Ward software and agriculture is an asset. As part of a small, growing business, the successful candidate must be flexible and team-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices and payments, matching documentation and resolving discrepancies.
Prepare customer invoices, apply payments, maintain account balances, and follow up on receivables.
Reconcile vendor, customer, grower, and general ledger accounts.
Process producer payments and contract settlements; maintain production contract, acreage, incentive, storage, and delivery records.
Record and reconcile raw materials, seed, treatment products, packaging, and finished-goods inventory; assist with counts and valuation.
Prepare journal entries and support month-, quarter-, and year-end close.
Maintain accurate accounting records and customer, vendor, and grower data.
Prepare management reports and support audits, regulatory reporting, and corrective actions.
Collaborate on pricing, billing, documentation, and other administrative or payroll duties as required.
Use and develop proficiency in Thede Ward software.

Qualifications

2–3 years of accounts payable and receivable experience; agriculture or dealership experience is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Thede Ward software experience is an asset.
Strong accuracy, organization, communication, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
High school diploma required; post-secondary education in accounting, business, or a related field is an asset.
Agricultural or agribusiness knowledge is an asset.
