Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Industrial Engineer who will be responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance through the analysis, design, and optimization of production processes, workflows, facility layouts, labor utilization, and manufacturing systems. This role partners closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to identify improvement opportunities, eliminate waste, reduce costs, and support operational excellence initiatives. The Industrial Engineer plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, enhancing capacity, and ensuring resources are utilized effectively to meet customer and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, and production systems to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and other operational excellence methodologies.
Conduct time studies, work measurements, and labor analyses to establish and maintain production standards and labor routings.
Develop, implement, and maintain standardized work instructions and best practices to improve consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Evaluate workforce utilization, staffing requirements, and production capacity to optimize resource allocation.
Analyze production data, operational metrics, and performance trends to identify opportunities for increased productivity and cost reduction.
Design and optimize manufacturing layouts, material flow paths, and work cell configurations to improve throughput and reduce waste.
Evaluate equipment utilization, machine capacity, and production constraints to maximize operational efficiency.
Support capital equipment planning, justification, procurement, installation, and implementation projects.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve operational performance.
Identify and implement initiatives that reduce manufacturing costs related to labor, materials, tooling, equipment, and processes.
Support quoting, estimating, and cost analysis activities through labor and process evaluations.
Perform root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions for process-related quality, productivity, and operational issues.
Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, reports, and other tools used to monitor operational effectiveness.
Utilize ERP/MRP systems and data analytics tools to evaluate manufacturing performance and support decision-making.
Lead cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, ensuring objectives, timelines, and deliverables are achieved.
Facilitate process improvement workshops and training sessions to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Support facility expansion, workflow redesign, automation, and productivity improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety standards, and applicable quality management systems.
Present findings, recommendations, and project results to management and operational teams.
Maintain accurate documentation related to processes, standards, layouts, labor studies, and improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3-5 years of Industrial Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing experience is considered a strong asset.
Demonstrated experience leading process improvement and operational excellence initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping methodologies.
Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, capacity planning, workflow optimization, and productivity improvement projects.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, facility layout design, material flow, and resource utilization.
Experience supporting capital equipment evaluations, implementation projects, and manufacturing process improvements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and data analysis tools.
Knowledge of OEE, throughput analysis, labor standards, cost reduction methodologies, and manufacturing performance metrics.
Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions to operational challenges.
Strong project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar layout/design software is considered an asset.
Lean Six Sigma certification is considered an asset.
Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace quality requirements is considered an asset.

Work Environment

Monday to Friday, on-site, 44 hours per week
Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
Frequent interaction with production personnel, supervisors, engineers, and management.
Ability to spend extended periods on the production floor conducting observations, audits, and process studies.
Occasional travel between facilities or customer locations may be required.
