Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Summer Camp Director to lead our seasonal program. We will be running three, one week camps in August and into early September.

This role is ideal for a passionate individual with strong leadership skills, experience in project management, and a love for working with youth. The Summer Camp Director will oversee all aspects of the camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational environment for participants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s summer experiences while demonstrating excellent administrative and team management abilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement the summer camp program curriculum, activities, and schedules to ensure an enriching experience for all participants.
Recruit, train, and supervise two camp staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Oversee daily operations of the camp, ensuring safety protocols are followed and that all activities adhere to licensing and organizational standards.
Conduct research on best practices in youth engagement, safety procedures, and innovative programming to continually improve the camp experience.
Maintain detailed administrative records related to registration, attendance, staff schedules, and incident reports.
Collaborate with parents, community partners, and stakeholders to enhance program offerings and address concerns promptly.
Lead staff meetings, provide ongoing training opportunities, and evaluate staff performance throughout the season.

Skills

Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent research skills to stay informed about youth development trends and safety regulations.
Proven administrative experience with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting.
Experience in teaching or working directly with children or youth programs is highly desirable.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
