Full job description

Duties

Create detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and specifications
· Utilize specialized software such as Revit, SysQue & AutoCAD to develop accurate and precise drawings
· Incorporate design changes and modifications as directed by project managers
· Prepare and update schematics, layouts, and blueprints for construction projects
· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all drafted designs
· Review and analyze project specifications to identify potential design issues or conflicts
· Collaborate with other drafters and team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in drawings
· Maintain organized records of all drafts, revisions, and project documentation

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Architectural, Mechanical, Civil, or Engineering Drafting Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years of drafting experience, preferably in the mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or construction industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SysQue. Experience with other CAD/BIM software is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of 2D and 3D drafting, BIM workflows, and construction documentation.
Knowledge of drafting standards, engineering drawing conventions, symbols, and applicable building codes.
Ability to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and engineering drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, hydronics, and piping layouts, is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify design conflicts and recommend practical solutions.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with engineers, project managers, field personnel, and other team members.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
Knowledge of Manitoba Building Code, National Plumbing Code, National Building Code, and applicable industry standards is considered an asset.

Compensation

Offers a competitive compensation package based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SysQue, and knowledge of mechanical systems. Salary will be discussed during the interview process.
