Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Cashier to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service, preparing quality beverages, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service environments, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cash management, and customer engagement within a dynamic coffee shop setting.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks according to company standards
Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments efficiently using cash or card transactions
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, equipment, and seating space
Handle food preparation tasks including assembling food items and maintaining food safety standards
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and creating a positive experience
Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food service and sanitation

Skills

Experience with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is preferred
Prior barista experience or background in the food industry is highly desirable
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
Basic math skills for cash handling, giving correct change, and processing transactions accurately
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist customers confidently
