Overview
COSCO SHIPPING is one of the major ocean carriers in the world. COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Canada) Inc. (Montreal branch office) is located at 1 Av Holiday, Tour Ouest, Suite #220, Pointe-Claire, Quebec, H9R 5N3. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our team. In this hybrid role, you will assist our Sales and Accounting Department in our Montreal office.

This is a full-time union excluded position based on 37.5 hours per week in our General Management Department.

Job Responsibilities

Sales Department Support

Assist sales by preparing quotes for export & import rates, updating service contracts, and managing rate filing.
Accurately track and file free time allowances.
Assist sales team with general customer requests.

Accounting Department Support

Manage weekly payment collections for Demurrage/Detention (DD) charges.
Run and distribute weekly DD reports while updating the team on collection progress.
Follow up on DD-related matters, including billing, payment application, and resolving pending issues.
Coordinate with colleagues in other COSCO offices to ensure smooth account management.
Act as backup for handling DD discount applications when needed.
Process check payment.
Assist team members as a backup and provide general administrative support for the office as needed.

Skills

Minimum college degree diploma; additional certification or education in Office Management is a plus
· Some logistics experience an asset
· Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. printers, fax machines).
· High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
· Professional demeanor and appearance.
· Sollid written and verbal communication skills
· Exceptional multitasking and time-management abilities with proven track record of prioritizing tasks.
· Strong attention to detail and a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude.
