Full job description

Harris Victoria Dodge is going through exciting changes and looking for an Automotive Diesel technician as we continue to move down our growth path.

We offer Relocation Assistance to help get you setup and on your feet. To get you on your feet, we’ll pay for 2 months of accommodations and give you a 30 day guarantee.

As our Diesel Technician you’ll make $55 per hour on Flat-Rate, with up to another $3 per hour Flat Rate in production bonuses.

We have a high volume used vehicle department, where internally, we spread the love for all Journeyman technicians to take part in inspection, and mechanical work to make flat rate hours.

To get even more hours, we have a full-functioning Outbound and Inbound Service Business Development team who help grow the retail side of business, along with the support of Marketing team.

Victoria is an incredible city, and offers a lot of variety for every lifestyle. From incredible year-round weather versus the rest of Canada, to water everywhere, fishing, boating, the big city of Vancouver shopping, and incredible restaurants.

Victoria sees little to no snow over the winter. In fact, last winter, we had no snow at all. But when we do see snow, it’s maybe a few centimeters, a few isolated days during the winter months – but it melts the same day. And every now and again over the winter it might dip to just below zero (like -2) for an overnight low.

The city of Vancouver is just a hop, skip and a jump by ferry in just over an hour. Or puddle-jumper. You can jump on a bobsled converted into a float-plane if you’re into that as a method of crossing faster. But a large majority of people from Victoria visit Vancouver on the weekends.

The major metropolitan city of Vancouver, and surrounding areas, offer everything any lifestyle could possibly want, including the USA crossing into Seattle by vehicle from Vancouver, or a ferry direct from Victoria in just over an hour.

But with Victoria being a little big city, lots of greenery, mountains, water, and amenities – why would you really want to leave Victoria for the weekend?

What You'll Do

As a Diesel Technician, you will:

Diagnose and repair diesel-powered vehicles, including Cummins-equipped RAM trucks
Perform engine, fuel system, emissions, cooling system, and turbocharger repairs
Diagnose electrical, drivability, and performance concerns
Complete advanced diesel diagnostics using factory scan tools and equipment
Perform warranty and customer-pay repairs to manufacturer specifications
Maintain accurate repair documentation and inspection reports
Collaborate with service advisors and fellow technicians to ensure efficient workflow
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification (or equivalent)
Proven experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
Strong knowledge of diesel fuel systems, emissions systems, and after-treatment components
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications

Cummins diesel experience
Chrysler/Stellantis dealership experience
Experience with RAM Heavy Duty trucks
OEM certifications and manufacturer training
Advanced electrical diagnostic skills
Experience with fleet and commercial vehicle repairs
