Full job description

Star Solutions is a leading supplier of unique IP based wireless mobile solutions. We offer a complete mobile network infrastructure as well as Wireless Local Loop network solutions.

We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Richmond, BC, for a term position ending on October 27th, 2026 to support our year-end audit. This role will report to the Senior Controller. The compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage our full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. You will be the point person for ensuring all incoming bills are paid accurately and all outgoing invoices are collected promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (Full Cycle):

Review, code, and process vendor invoices.
Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
Schedule and execute weekly payment runs (Checks, ACH, Wires).
Maintain vendor relationships and respond to payment inquiries.

Accounts Receivable (Full Cycle):

Generate and distribute accurate client invoices based on contracts or sales orders.
Post daily customer payments (checks and wire payment) to the general ledger.
Monitor aging reports and perform proactive collection outreach.
Process credit memos and resolve billing disputes.
Prepare monthly sales commission report

General Accounting:

Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries for AP/AR accruals and month-end closing.
Assist with audit requests by providing supporting documentation for transactions.
Maintain an organized digital filing system for all financial records.
Other duties as required by controller.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2–3 years of experience in accounting, specifically focused on AP and AR.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage MAS500, or SAP).
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communications skills
Previous experience in an AR and AP role preferably from High Tech or manufacturing industry
Experience in multi-currencies and intercompany
Experience with financial statement preparation is a plus
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) required
Able to prioritize and multi-task
A positive, upbeat personality, able to work within a team atmosphere

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Excellent communication skills for professional collections and vendor management.
