About the Opportunity

Foster Heating & Cooling is looking for an HVAC/R Mechanic, 3rd year apprentice through Journeyperson, to join our team in Victoria. This role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, refrigeration and hydronic systems. Boiler and hydronics experience is considered a strong asset.

Our capabilities include full-service heating, cooling, refrigeration, boiler and A-Gas services, including equipment sales, design & installation, as well as a strong focus on preventative maintenance & 24-hour service. We have 40+ technicians, service 500+ commercial customers across all of Vancouver Island, and pride ourselves in being a one-stop-shop for all mechanical service & maintenance requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

Install, maintain, and service HVAC, refrigeration, & hydronic systems across commercial & residential applications
Service gas-fired heating systems and boilers.
Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend practical, lasting solutions, not just quick fixes.
Work safely in a variety of environments, including heights and confined spaces.

Qualifications & Requirements

3rd year apprentice through Journeyperson (Red Seal); all levels within that range considered.
Gas Class A ticket is a strong asset
Boiler and hydronics experience is a strong asset
Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine work ethic.
Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights and in confined spaces.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
