Full job description

ELEMENTARY SECRETARY

Under the direction of the Principal, the successful incumbent will provide administrative support to the school in accordance with Board policies & procedures.

Duties

General reception, phones, mail and correspondence

Record and maintain attendance for students on a daily basis

Maintain all student information in the Student Information System

Responsible for processing purchase orders and receipt of goods

Process/prepare all month end reports and OnSIS reports

Responsible for maintaining all achievement records and processing report cards and reports

Maintain enrolment statistics and prepare reports for Board and Ministry

Maintain Ontario Student Record (OSR) as outlined in the Ministry “OSR Guideline”

Maintenance of Board and in-school budgets and finances

Type newsletters, teacher handbook, and student handbook

All other duties assigned by the Principal

Qualifications

Secondary school graduate or equivalent required
Successful completion of an Office Administration Program from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution and/or equivalent experience in the office administration is preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher)
Word processing, database and spreadsheet experience required
Experience with GSuite (Google Applications) would be an asset
Experience with Aspen would be an asset
Experience with School Cash Suite & K212 would be an asset
Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Bilingual (French) would be an asset

Applicants must have the required qualifications including skill, knowledge and ability to perform all duties in a satisfactory manner.
