Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Continuing Care Assistant to provide high-quality support and assistance to residents in a senior living or home care setting. This position is located at various locations across Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being, safety, and comfort of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through personalized care and support.

Duties

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Administer medications accurately according to care plans and protocols
Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
Monitor residents’ health status and report any changes or concerns to supervising staff
Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
Support residents with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
Follow all safety procedures and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly preferred
CCA certificate mandatory
Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is advantageous
Certification or training in medication administration is a plus
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered care
Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to all safety and health regulations

Additional Requirements:

Reliable transportation
Proof of immunizations (MMRV, COVID-19)
N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
