Job Title: Court Support Caseworker

Status: Full-Time

Program: Pathways to Positive Futures

Location: Brampton

Hourly Rate: $23.59 - $25.04

Hours: 37.5 Hours weekly

Schedule: Monday-Friday

EFry Hope and Help provides trauma-informed, inclusive and gender-responsive programs and services to support women and girls at risk or involved in the legal system in building stable lives. Through advocacy, rehabilitation, and community partnerships, we empower individuals to build safer, healthier, and more stable futures.

We are recruiting a full-time Court Support Caseworker to join our Pathways to Positive Futures Program. The Pathways to Positive Futures Program is a comprehensive justice diversion and rehabilitation initiative that supports individuals involved in the criminal justice system by addressing the underlying factors contributing to offending behavior. Through a continuum of trauma-informed service, including court support, substance use treatment, diversion programming, behavioral interventions, and records suspension assistance, the program helps participants navigate the justice system, access treatment and community resources, reduce barriers to reintegration, and build positive, sustainable futures.

The successful candidate will provide front-line case management and support across the following EFry Hope and Help for Women justice programs, including:

Halton Drug Treatment Court (HDTC)
Court Support Program
Pre-Charge Diversion Program
Records Suspension Program
Alcohol & Drug Awareness Program (ADAP)
Anger Management Program

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Court Support Caseworker will work both out of the Brampton Courthouse 5 days a week and Burlington Courthouse twice per month.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct Court Support services to women by assisting clients in navigating legal processes, accessing legal aid, and connecting with community and family supports to remain in the community where possible.

2. Deliver case management, counselling, and treatment support through the Halton Drug Treatment Court (HDTC) program, helping clients address substance use and reduce justice system involvement

3. Facilitate Alcohol Drug Awareness (ADAP) and Anger Management programs, guiding participants through structured, gender-responsive sessions focused on behavioral change and self-reflection

4. Support clients in making positive lifestyle changes by providing crisis intervention, problem-solving, and ongoing reintegration support

5. Assist individuals with Records Suspension applications, including completing documentation and coordinating financial supports to reduce barriers to employment and housing

6. Manage Pre-Charge Diversion cases from intake to completion, liaising with Peel Regional Police and supporting clients in successfully meeting program requirements

7. Conduct intake interviews, assess client needs, and facilitate referrals to appropriate legal, social, and community services

8. Advocate on behalf of clients, including accompanying them to court and liaising with court personnel and community partners

9. Maintain accurate, confidential client files, case notes, and documentation in compliance with agency policies and professional standards

10. Prepare and submit required reports on client progress, service delivery, and program outcomes

11. Collaborate with internal staff, practicum students, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and client-centered service delivery

12. Deliver programming in both in-person and virtual formats (e.g., Microsoft Teams/Zoom) and participate in ongoing professional development.

13. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

· A degree and/or diploma from a University or College in a related field with experience working with vulnerable populations.

· A demonstrated awareness of relevant legislation including but not limited to the Canadian Criminal Code, Family Law and Ontario, and the Family Services Act.

· The ability to maintain confident program facilitation skills in order to effectively interact with clients using a trauma informed approach.

· Knowledge of the judiciary and court systems and their high-level procedures and protocols, as well as the roles of court personnel.

· Knowledge of community resources and services.

· Interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse client group in a diplomatic and non-judgmental manner.

· Practical knowledge and experience administering gender specific and responsive programming.

· Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well and collaborate with diverse community groups and other stakeholders (i.e. court personnel, external community agencies and other key supports in the community.

Mandatory Job Requirements:

· Satisfactory Criminal Record Review (Vulnerable Sector Check)

· Standard First Aid / CPR certification

· Evidence of a Tuberculosis Test in compliance with the TB Control Program

· Ability to lift 30 pounds

· Doctor's note of fitness to perform the duties of the job

· Valid Ontario driver’s license, with satisfactory driving record (Preferred)
