Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Flooring Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various flooring installation techniques and possess a strong attention to detail.

Assistant Hardwood Floor Installer

Construction Company seeks individual for full-time position.

Entry level position:
Hardwood Flooring Assistant Installer
Construction experience an asset

On the job training provided

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday
7:30am-4:30pm
40 hours plus overtime

Job Involves:
-heavy lifting of materials (hardwood flooring)
-unloading heavy materials from truck (up to 50lbs)
-moving heavy materials around the jobsite
-use of power tools to cut hardwood flooring
-use of power tools to install hardwood flooring
-bending to layout hardwood flooring on jobsite
-attention to detail
-ability to follow instructions

Looking for an individual who:
-is responsible
-has attention to detail
-has ability to follow instructions
-has a positive attitude
-shows up to work on-time
-show up to work 5 days a week and the occasional Saturday
-is available for occasional overnight travel for out of town jobs
-has own transportation to get to the shop in Headingley

Minimum Requirements
-must be available to work Monday to Friday full time including overtime and the occasional Saturday
-vehicle to get to and from shop in Headingley
-physically capable of unloading, carrying and moving heavy material (up to 50lbs) all throughout the day
-must be available for occasional overnight stays for out of town jobs

The following experience is an asset:
-experience using power tools
-prior experience with sheet vinyl
-prior experience with hardwood flooring

Hardwood flooring Installation
The bulk of the work as an assistant hardwood flooring installer, is unloading and moving heavy material. Once the flooring material is all laid out, you will work with a crew of 2-3 guys to cut and install the material using power tools. This involves a lot of bending and lifting.

Why it’s satisfying work
You start with a blank space in a building and after you are done your work, you get satisfaction from seeing a brand-new gymnasium floor installed so that future students of that school can play sports!
