Full job description

FMP Group is currently seeking an experienced Field Operations Coordinator to support and coordinate field operations within our Oil & Gas Technical Services division in the Bonnyville area. This position is responsible for coordinating field personnel, equipment, fleet, purchasing, client requirements, and day-to-day operational activities to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and customer expectations.

The Field Operations Coordinator will work closely with field employees, supervisors, management, HR, HSE, and client representatives to coordinate upcoming work, allocate resources, address operational requirements, and maintain strong customer relationships. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial field operations, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, solutions-oriented leader who can effectively coordinate people and equipment, support employees in the field, respond to customer needs, and work with management to improve operational efficiency, revenue forecasting, and overall project execution.

What you do:

Coordinate workforce requirements for upcoming projects, jobs, maintenance activities, and field operations
Coordinate the scheduling and allocation of employees and equipment to ensure projects are adequately resourced
Coordinate maintenance, servicing, inspections, and repairs of fleet vehicles and auxiliary equipment
Monitor equipment availability and work with management and field personnel to ensure equipment is ready and available when required
Work closely with HR to identify staffing requirements, participate in recruitment, and assist with hiring and onboarding of field employees
Support employee orientation, onboarding, training, competency development, and performance requirements
Assist with competency assessments and ensure employees are appropriately qualified and competent for assigned work
Mentor and provide day-to-day operational guidance to field employees
Delegate and coordinate work assignments to employees as required by the company and project needs
Manage purchasing of equipment, tools, materials, and consumables required for shop and field operations
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain materials and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner
Maintain strong client and customer relationships through professional communication and responsive service
Respond to customer requests, field calls, operational questions, and scope-related requirements from clients and employees
Work with clients and field personnel to clarify job scopes, priorities, schedules, and operational requirements
Coordinate with management to identify operational opportunities, improve efficiency, and streamline project execution
Assist management with revenue tracking, forecasting, resource planning, and upcoming project requirements
Monitor upcoming work and assist with forecasting workforce, equipment, materials, and operational needs
Work closely with HSE to ensure site documentation is current and meets customer and project requirements
Assist with updating Site Job Plans (SJPs), Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and other project-specific documentation as required
Ensure field teams have the appropriate documentation, equipment, materials, and resources required to complete assigned work
Support the coordination of shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance activities, construction projects, and other industrial field scopes
Identify operational challenges and work with field personnel and management to develop practical and timely solutions
Maintain accurate operational records, schedules, equipment information, and project documentation
Promote a positive culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism across field operations
Support management with other operational duties and projects as required

What we are looking for:

Minimum 3+ years of experience in field operations, industrial services, oil & gas, construction, maintenance, or a related industry
Previous experience coordinating field crews, equipment, projects, or industrial operations
Experience coordinating manpower, equipment, fleet, materials, and job requirements
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client and customer relationships
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor employees, delegate work, and provide direction when required
Experience working with HR on recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee development considered an asset
Experience with purchasing, procurement, inventory, and vendor coordination
Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and other operational or project management systems
Experience working with HSE personnel and maintaining project/site documentation
Familiarity with SJPs, SWPs, JHAs, THAs, and other industrial safety documentation
Understanding of Alberta OH&S requirements and industrial safety practices
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a management and operations team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and operational demands
Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
Ability and willingness to travel to field locations and industrial sites as required
