Job Description: Operations Manager

Corr Steel Fabricators is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee both our front office and shop floor production. You will manage our technical team (drafters, estimators, and project managers), drive business development, negotiate contracts, and guide our hands-on fabrication operations.

The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of our operations. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in welding supervision and shop management. The successful candidate will manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure the timely delivery of quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Office Leadership: Supervise and mentor the front office team, including drafters, project managers, and estimators, ensuring accurate submittals and smooth project handoffs.
Shop & Production Management: Oversee daily floor operations, welding, machine operations, and plasma roll forming to ensure all fabricated products meet quality standards.
Project Management & Estimating: Read and interpret complex structural drawings. Review estimates, material costs, and project timelines to ensure overall contract profitability.
Procurement: Source raw steel and shop consumables. Negotiate pricing and vendor contracts to maximize cost-efficiency.
Business Development & Sales: Drive growth by identifying new client opportunities, pitching fabrication services, and closing high-value contracts.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience managing both office staff and shop production in a steel fabrication environment.
Technical Skills: Expert ability to read structural drawings. Direct familiarity with drafting workflows, estimation software, and hands-on machinery (MIG/TIG welding, CNC plasma, roll formers).
Business Acumen: Proven track record in B2B and B2C sales, procurement, and client negotiations.
Leadership: Strong communication skills to manage office professionals and shop floor personnel effectively
