About Aldershot Greenhouses

Aldershot Greenhouses is a family-owned grower of premium potted plants based in Burlington, Ontario. We supply leading retailers across North America, and our team takes pride in quality, reliability, and doing things right. As the business grows, so does our finance team — and we’re adding a new role to help it run smoothly.

About the Role

This is a new, junior-level position created to support a growing accounting department. You’ll own the day-to-day, high-volume transaction processing that keeps the department moving — accounts payable and receivable processing, credit-card and expense handling, and freight processing — freeing our senior team to focus on analysis and reporting. It’s a hands-on, detail-driven role with full training provided and genuine room to grow into broader accounting responsibilities over time.

What You’ll Do

Process and code accounts payable invoices (routine processing), flagging exceptions for senior review
Enter routine credit requests, invoice adjustments, and customer-portal claims, escalating customer-specific credit decisions to senior AR
Handle the monthly company credit-card cycle: process and print card statements (21 Visa + 2 Amex), follow up on missing receipts, and support the expense-report process
Freight administration: maintain the open freight purchase-order file, invoice other parties for freight, reconcile vendor statements, and keep vendor documentation in order
Support accounts receivable: assist with customer invoice generation and follow up on overdue invoices
Provide invoicing and order-entry support during peak seasons, and cover routine tasks when teammates are away
Grow into additional responsibilities as your experience develops

What We’re Looking For

Required:

Intermediate Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills — comfortable with spreadsheets, data entry, and everyday formulas (this is essential to the role). This will be tested during the hiring process.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with repetitive, high-volume work
Well organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage a steady workload
Reliable and dependable, and comfortable following established processes
Clear communicator, team player, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn
Eligible to work in Canada and able to work on-site in Burlington (Aldershot)

Nice to have:

Prior experience in an accounting, AP/AR, or bookkeeping support role
Exposure to Salesforce (Accounting Seed), Concur, or similar accounting and expense systems — or a clear willingness to learn them
Post-secondary coursework in accounting, business, or a related field
Experience in a high-volume or seasonal business

Working Arrangement
