MAK Consulting is an exciting and innovative software development company based in Burlington and Brantford, Ontario. We have an immediate opening for an experienced automation integration engineer. The ideal candidate would reside within commuting distance to either our Brantford or Burlington office. Currently, MAK’s team is following a hybrid work structure, working two days a week in one of our office locations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Key resource for technical leadership of projects
- Support senior members of the team to develop requirements and design specifications to address both functional and non-functional requirements for major feature components
- Provide technical engineering estimates for sales opportunities
- Support company initiatives to create growth opportunities
- Work on projects consisting of cross functional teams
- Perform PLC programming tasks including development, integration testing, commissioning and support, and associated documentation
- Develop new functionality to fulfill client initiatives, including PLC and HMI development and integration with external systems
- Perform system analysis, code modifications, and functional testing to troubleshoot application features and communication issues
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (2+ years experience)
- Degree/diploma in Engineering related to SCADA/PLC/Robotics and can support the following list of qualifications
- Experience supporting sales initiatives from an engineering perspective
- Experience executing projects as a technical lead including leading other team members
- Experience executing project execution phases of requirements, design, development, testing, UAT, FAT, Commissioning, SAT
- Experience in high quality PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text, phase controls, AOI’s, tag data structures) with Allen Bradley and/or Schneider Modicon
- Understanding of PLC communication protocols and/or PLC networking
- Experience integrating PLC’s with HMI’s and other 3 party systems
- Experience with AVEVA System Platform 2014 and newer (System Platform / Wonderware / InTouch / Application Server)
- Basic understanding of continuous and/or batching processes
- Strong written & oral communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and team building skills
- Adaptable, able to learn new skills/technologies
- Ability to work globally
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with SQL (Microsoft SQL Server preferred), OPC UA, Cloud Based software integration is an asset
- Strong skills in Windows based operating systems
- Project management and/or Technical leadership experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office product suite

Pay: $55,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
