Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead daily operations in our flooring warehouse. You will oversee the safe, efficient handling, storage, and distribution of a wide range of flooring products, including carpet rolls, hardwood, laminate, tile, LVP, vinyl, and accessories. This role is ideal for a strong leader who prioritizes inventory accuracy, damage prevention, timely order fulfillment, workplace safety, and a clean, organized facility in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all shipping and receiving operations, including verifying incoming shipments, inspecting for damage or discrepancies, and ensuring accurate documentation (bills of lading, packing slips, etc.).
Safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift for loading/unloading trucks and organizing stock.
Maintain excellent stock organization and proper storage practices to protect flooring materials (especially moisture-sensitive hardwood and fragile tile).
Lead, train, and supervise a team of Warehouse Associates — assign tasks, monitor performance, conduct cycle counts and physical inventories, and address performance issues.
Coordinate closely with contractors, installers, suppliers, drivers, and management to ensure on-time deliveries / installations and resolve any issues.
Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counting, FIFO stock rotation, and minimizing shrinkage or damage.
Enforce strict safety protocols and maintain compliance with OHS and all applicable regulatory standards.
Continuously improve warehouse layout, space utilization, and processes to boost efficiency and reduce errors.
Track key performance metrics (order accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory levels) and provide regular reports and improvement recommendations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience in a warehouse environment (flooring or building materials experience is a strong asset).
Valid sit-down forklift certification and demonstrated safe operating experience.
Strong proficiency with basic Microsoft Office tools, email, and ideally warehouse/inventory management software.
Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) for documentation and team/customer interactions.
Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs regularly, with the ability to use equipment for heavier items.
Strong leadership skills with 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
Highly reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
