Job Purpose:
The IT Administrator’s role is to design and implement IT infrastructure and to ensure high levels of availability and security on all supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

LOCATION: Sudbury, ON - 1933 Regent St. (located in Southridge Mall) On-site work environment with ability to work from home after successful completion of probationary & training period.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for hardware and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
· Coordinate with other related administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
· Deploy workstations, servers, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems and perform regular scheduled maintenance on them.
· Manage communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company web sites, intranet, and internet applications.
· Ensure integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, databases, and during data transfer is in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
· Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
· Perform regularly scheduled network and security audits.
· Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, escalate and resolve hardware and software problems.
· Practice asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
· Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
· Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
· Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support ClaimSecure.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
· College diploma or university degree in the field of computer systems technology and/or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.
· Current industry certification is required. Examples: MCSA/E, M365 certified, VCP, CCNA etc.
· Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience including networks, PC, and platform operating systems (including Windows 11, Microsoft Server 2019-2025, Linux/Unix).
· Extensive application support experience with Windows Servers, IIS, SQL Server, Active Directory, Domain Controllers and Firewalls, M365, Entra ID, SharePoint online etc.
· Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi, and virtualization administration such as VMware.
· Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
· Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
· Data center experience including disaster recovery and business continuity practices and infrastructure.
· Comfortable with SANs and enterprise storage.
· Experience with development environments like DEV, TEST, and PROD.
Context and Environment:
The IT Administrator maintains, supports and enhances applications and systems which are crucial to the core business operations of the company. These applications and related systems directly support our clients, service providers and individual members.
An employee in this role must be able to:
· Work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
· Work for extended periods at a computer.
· Work occasional overtime hours to meet project deadlines.
· 37.5-hour work week (on-site during probationary/training period) with on-call availability for 1 week every 10 weeks.
· Minimal travel required.
· Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
· Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, UPS batteries and peripherals.
Internal Communications:
IT Administrator must liaise with ClaimSecure stakeholders to gather information to help plan and maintain systems and infrastructure to meet business goals. This includes some public speaking skills for presentations for small to medium sized groups in relation to IT changes.
External Communications:
Occasional contact with clients, suppliers, contractors and vendors to maintain and troubleshoot systems. This includes some public speaking skills for presentations for small to medium sized groups in relation to IT changes.
